About Programme

Gazi University Recreation Department, with its strong academic staff, will especially serve the developing recreation science and society in our country; It aims to train individuals who can be experts in leisure and recreation planning, organization, training and management or therapeutic recreation leadership with the course groups included in the program to be employed in the public and private sectors.

History
Recreation graduate program, which was officially opened in 2022, received its first students in the 2022-2023 academic year. Section; It offers courses that develop theoretical and practical knowledge to students with proficiency in recreation types, education, health, technology, business, economy, tourism, communication, various types of activities, event management and project management.

Admission Requirements
To graduate from 4-year Recreation, Sports Management, Coaching and Physical Education Teaching departments of Faculties of Sports Sciences, Physical Education and Sports Higher Schools and other faculties and colleges of universities; Recreation Management departments of Tourism Faculties and also at least 4-year undergraduate programs related to the field. To document that you have received at least the score specified in the Gazi University Regulation and the score above in the type of ALES score that is foreseen in the advertisement for the application. In order to apply for Master's degree programs, it is required to have a score of one of the foreign language exams specified in the Gazi University Regulation and above that are equivalent to these exams by KPDS / UDS / YDS or the Council of Higher Education.
Higher Grade Transition
After the master's education in the completed field, an application can be made to the doctoral program, provided that the admission requirements specified in the Gazi University Regulations are met.
Graduation Requirements
In order to be entitled to receive the Recreation Master's Degree, one must take a minimum of 120 ECTS credits, including the seminar and thesis preparation course, and successfully complete the master's thesis to be conducted with his/her supervisor.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Students graduating from this program can find employment in both the private sector and the government and foundation sectors.
Assessment and Grading
1-For each course, at least one written midterm exam and a final exam are given. However, only the final exam can be given for applied courses. The Institute Administrative Board may also decide to hold the exam as an oral or practical study when necessary.
2-The student must fulfill the attendance requirement in order to take the final exam for a course.
3- The success of the student in each course is determined by the failure to evaluate the semester grade(s) together with the final exam grade. Term grades; midterm exam grade(s) and/or grades given to assignments, applications and practical work.
4-The student's success in the course is determined by the letter grade by the instructor, taking into account the general success level of all students taking that course.
