About Programme

Halk Sağlığı Hemşireliği, hemşirelik mesleğinin uzmanlık alanlarından biridir ve güncel hemşirelik yönetmeliğinde de tanımlanmıştır. Uygulama alanı oldukça geniş olan halk sağlığı hemşireliği, evde bakım, ana çocuk sağlığı ve aile planlaması, toplum ruh sağlığı, ceza ve tutukevi, çocuk-yaşlı-engelli bakımevleri, iş sağlığı ve okul sağlığı alanlarını kapsamaktadır. Her yaş grubundan ve her sağlık düzeyinde bireye hizmet veren halk sağlığı hemşiresi, çalıştığı alanlarda bireylerin sağlık risklerini belirleme, sağlıklarını koruma ve geliştirme, hastalık halinde iyileştirme ve rehabilitasyon hizmetlerine katılır. Doğrudan sağlık bakımının yanı sıra, sağlık eğitimi, rehberlik- danışmanlık ve vaka yönetimi rolleri bulunmaktadır. Sağlık ve sosyal hizmet profesyonelleri ile işbirliği içerisinde çalışmak ve bağımsız hemşirelik fonksiyonlarını yürütmek için kapsamlı veri toplayarak birey, aile ve toplulukların bakım gereksinimini saptama, bakım önceliklerini belirleme, uygun bakım girişimlerini seçme, bu girişimleri uygulamaya koyma ve uygulama sonuçlarını değerlendirme hemşirenin temel fonksiyonlarıdır. Halk Sağlığı Hemşiresi, birey, aile ve toplum sağlığına yönelik hizmetlerini ulusal sağlık hedefleri ile bütünleştirerek, ortak hedeflere ulaşmak için meslektaşlarıyla, diğer sağlık ve sosyal hizmet profesyonelleri ile ve bakım sunduğu birey, aile ve toplumla işbirliği içinde çalışır. Bakımın sürekliliğini ve kalitesini sağlamak üzere birlikte çalıştığı hemşire meslektaşlarına yönelik hizmet içi eğitim etkinliklerini planlar, uygular ve değerlendirir.

The Main Branch of Science
History
|
Public Health Nursing faculty members have been giving postgraduate education in graduate and doctorate programs of the Nursing Department since 2007. However, the graduate program of the Department of Public Health Nursing was approved by the Higher Education Board in the 2021-2022 academic year.

Qualification Awarded
|
Those who complete the training will have a master's degree.

Admission Requirements
For Turkish Citizen Students:
Be a graduate of a nursing degree program
To have taken the academy graduate exam and to take the foreign language exam accepted by the Council of Higher Education.
Among the applicants to the program, those who will apply for the exam to be held by the department are determined by pre-selection. Written and/or oral exams are given by the department. In the pre-selection, 50% of the ALES score and the percentage of the foreign language and graduation grade determined by the department are taken into account. Students who pass the pre-selection can attend the exam held by the Department. The determined percentage of the grade taken from the exam is taken and added to the pre-selection grade. Starting from the highest score, students are registered to the program as many as the number of quotas.
For foreign students
Provided that they graduate from an undergraduate program accepted by the Council of Higher Education, they gain the right to enroll in the program with the scores they get from the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) veya Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) instead of ALES.

Higher Grade Transition
|
Graduates are entitled to apply to the Department of Public Health Nursing doctoral programs and to the Department of Nursing doctoral programs.

Graduation Requirements
|
In order to graduate, students must have completed at least 120 ECTS courses, 60% of which consists of compulsory courses.
|
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
|
Graduates who successfully complete the program are awarded a Public Health Nursing Master's degree. Graduates of Public Health Nursing Master's Program can take part in education and research services in nursing services programs as well as nursing programs of universities. In different areas of health services; in health protection, development and rehabilitation services in primary health care institutions (community health centers, family health centers, preventive mental health centers), care institutions (children, elderly and disabled care institutions), workplaces, schools and prisons; they can work.

Assessment and Grading
Exam assessment and evaluation of the program is made in accordance with Gazi University Graduate Education Education and Examination Regulations.
