About Programme
|
Our department, which started to accept students under the name of Industrial Products Design department within Gazi University Faculty of Fine Arts in 2008, started to continue education and training under the roof of Gazi University Faculty of Architecture as of 2012. The name of our department was changed to Industrial Design in accordance with the decision taken at the Higher Education Executive Board meeting dated 11.03.2020. In accordance with national expectations and needs, our program, whose education language is 30% English, provides Industrial Product Design education at international standards, continuously produces information with its researches and thus serves the society and humanity; To reach the feature of being a leading education and research institution among the stakeholder institutions aiming at technological and scientific development.

Our department has been at the undergraduate level since 2012; Since 2014, he has been providing graduate level Industrial Product Design education at international standards. In accordance with national expectations and needs, which continuously produces information with its researches and thus serves society and humanity; aims to achieve the feature of being a leading education and research institution among stakeholder institutions aiming at technological and scientific development.

Admission Requirements
For Turkish Citizens:
(1) High School Diploma, (2) Placement through a centralised, nation-wide student selection and placement
examination organized by Assessment, Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM). Candidates gain access to the
programmes based on their composite scores consisting of the scores on the centralized exam and high school
grade point averages.
For International Students :
(1) High School Diploma and its "Certificate of Equivalency? granted by the Turkish Ministry of National
Education (MoNE). (2) Exam for International Student (YÖS) or international university entrance examinations such as SAT I, ACT, etc., recognised by the national authority in higher education, the Council of Higher Education
(YÖK). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their scores obtained from YÖS or equivalent exams.

Higher Grade Transition
|
Upon successful completion of this programme, students may apply to second cycle degree or directly to integrated third cycle (doctorate) programmes.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
This degree enables the graduate to exercise his/her profession in the field of Industrial Design as an industrial designer in
accordance with the national regulations and practices.
Profession of Industrial Design is one of the vital professions to make Turkey-like countries which develop rapidly in industrial process compete sustainably in global markets. It is a strategic tool for all companies producing product design. Potential of the profession widens through the increasing design conscious in our nation?s industry. Strategic importance of design phenomenon and importance of national design skill increases day by day. Graduated students can work in the field of industrial design as well as they can serve product design and design management consultancy to related companies through the firms they establish. No matter which sector it is, for industrial designers business opportunity exists in each sector manufacturing. Development in these sectors and lack of qualified staff is affects graduates positively.
