About Programme

Gazi University Faculty of Health Sciences, Nursing Department was established in 1999. It is an institution that provides education at undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels. The education and research activities are conducted in eight departments, namely Fundamentals of Nursing, Internal Medicine Nursing, Surgical Nursing, Obstetrics-Women's Health and Diseases Nursing, Child Health and Diseases Nursing, Mental Health and Diseases Nursing, Public Health Nursing and Nursing Management. There are a total of 31 teaching staff in the Nursing Department, including 11 professors, 2 associate professors, 2 assistant proffesors, 9 lecturers with doctorate degrees and 7 reseacrh assistant/lecturer. The department has practice laboratories: Obstetrics-Women's Health and Diseases Nursing, Child Health and Diseases Nursing, and Fundamentals of Nursing. The department received its first undergraduate students in 1999. In 2003, student admissions for the Nursing Department graduate program started, and as of the academic year 2021-2022, graduate student admissions will be started in the Departments of Obstetrics-Women's Health and Diseases Nursing and Public Health Nursing as well as the Nursing Department.The department admitted its first non-thesis graduate students in nursing management in 2015.



 


The purpose of the non-thesis master's program in nursing management is to increase the student's knowledge level in nursing management and professional field, to gain the students the knowledge obtained from the researches and to show the use of the existing information. Master's program in nursing management without thesis has the basic knowledge of nursing management both in academic settings and clinical studies, is sensitive to the health problems of individuals, families and society at national and international level, can access and evaluate information specific to the field of nursing and nursing management, can make scientific research, To train students in order to strengthen the administrative, educational and research staff who can produce, transfer the acquired knowledge and skills to the field of practice, and have an impact on the health system.

History
Gazi University Faculty of Health Sciences, Nursing Department was established in 1999. It is an institution that provides education at undergraduate, graduate, non-thesis master's and doctoral levels. It carries out its education and research activities in eight departments, namely Nursing Principles, Internal Medicine Nursing, Surgical Nursing, Obstetrics, Gynecology and Diseases Nursing, Child Health and Diseases Nursing, Mental Health and Diseases Nursing, Public Health Nursing, Nursing Management. The department received its first undergraduate students in 1999, graduate students in 2003, doctoral students in 2012, and graduate students without thesis in management in nursing in 2015.

The aim of the graduate program without management in nursing is to increase the student's knowledge level in nursing management and professional field, to gain the information obtained from the researches and to show the use of existing knowledge.

Admission Requirements
For Turkish Citizens;
First Cycle (Bachelor's) Degree diploma, (2) A minimum score of ?.. in the Examination for Academic Personnel and Graduate Studies (ALES) or equivalent international examinations scores for graduate-level programmes such as GRE, GMAT, etc., recognised by YÖK. Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their composite scores consisting of the scores on ALES and first cycle degree grade point averages.

For International Students:
First Cycle Degree diploma obtained from universities recognised by YÖK. Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their first cycle degree grade point averages.
Higher Grade Transition
This qualification does not give direct access to third cycle degree programmes. Graduates may apply to third cycle degree programmes after fulfilling the requirements for Master?s programme with thesis.
Graduation Requirements
The relevant conditions in Gazi University Postgraduate Education and Examination Regulations must be met. In the non-thesis master's program, a total of 33 credits, 60 courses and 30 term projects, at least 11 courses and term projects must be completed, not less than 90 ECTS. Grade point average for graduation; In the master's without thesis, it must be at least 2.50 / 4.00.

This degree is a professionally oriented degree and enables the graduate to exercise his/her profession in or a related field of study.
Assessment and Grading
quantification and consideration
(1) Exams are evaluated over 100 full points. The weights of midterm and final exam notes to be used in calculating the success grade are recommended to the Rector's Office by the relevant boards, taking into account the characteristics of the courses. In addition, the lecturer of the course makes an announcement at the beginning of the semester covering the content of the course, all kinds of issues that will be the basis for the calculation of the success grade, the relevant resources and the time that students will spare outside the class hours.
(2) For students who fulfill the requirements in Article 21 and take the final exam, the score calculated as above is called the raw success score.
(3) A student whose raw success score is below 25.00 fails from that course by getting a direct (FF) grade. The success grade of the student whose raw success score is 25.00 and above; The general condition of the class is determined as one of the letter grades whose expansions and coefficients are stated below, using one of the methods prepared by the Rectorate, taking into account the arithmetic averages and statistical distribution. After this evaluation, it is possible to have letter grade equivalents (FF) for raw success scores of 25.00 and above.

(5) A student who takes one of the grades (AA), (BA), (BB), (CB), (CC) from a course is considered successful in that course. In addition, students whose GPA for a semester / year is at least 2.00 are considered successful from the courses they have taken that semester / year (DC) grade. This result is expressed as (DC +).
(6) (B) and (K) grades are not included in average calculation.
(7) (M) grade is given to students who are transferred from outside the University or enrolled in the University through the ÖSYM exam, horizontal and vertical transfer, for the courses they have previously taken and whose equivalence is recognized by the relevant administrative board upon the recommendation of the department chair. (M) grade is not included in the average calculation.
