History
Gazi University Institute of Health Sciences is affiliated to Gazi University, with the provisions in Articles 3/f, 19, 50 and 65 of the Higher Education Law No. 2547 and the Decree Law No. 41 on the Organization of Higher Education Institutions, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medicine and Physical Education. It was established in 1982 in order to organize, carry out and supervise the postgraduate and doctoral education in the School of Education and Sports and started its activities on 05.08.1983.

Later, in 2003, it included the School of Nursing with its Master's Program.

This School was transformed into a Faculty of Health Sciences in 2008 with the Decree of the Council of Ministers No. 2008/13928 and continues its graduate education under this name.

The main objectives of Gazi University Health Sciences Institute are to organize postgraduate education in Gazi University, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences and Faculty of Sport Sciences, to guide postgraduate studies and projects by following scientific and technological developments, to advance students in contemporary subjects. to direct research.


Students enrolled in the Graduate Program of the Institute continue their lectures, seminars and thesis studies in accordance with the regulations they are affiliated with. They have to complete this training within the time specified in the regulations to which they are bound.

As of November 2019, there are a total of 1367 students, 22 of whom are in non-thesis master's degree, 450 in master's degree and 895 in doctoral programs, registered to our institute, which continues education and training in a total of 55 fields, including 43 Departments, 1 Science Branch and 11 Programs. A strong teaching staff consisting of 171 Professors, 100 Associate Professors, 17 Doctors and 138 Research Assistants in the departments affiliated to the Health Sciences Institute are working to move Gazi University forward.

The Institute of Health Sciences, which trains qualified manpower that contributes to and will contribute to the R&D activities of Gazi University, which is one of the leading education and training institutions of our country, works with a sense of responsibility, in the light of the principles it has determined in accordance with its vision and mission. He continues his academic studies.

General admission requirements for Turkish and foreign students are valid to start the program.
Higher Grade Transition
Master's degree: Students who have graduated from the master's level can apply to doctoral programs in the appropriate fields of interest.
Graduation Requirements
To be successful in the thesis exam and to meet the other conditions determined in Gazi University Graduate Education and Training Regulations. The completion period of the master's program is 4 semesters.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Graduates of this program; They can work as instructors in physical education and sports departments or colleges, in universities providing education in the field of sports sciences and technology, and in the Ministry of Youth and Sports. They can also assist pre-school and education-level children as experts in school-club and club sports relations during their development.
Assessment and Grading
(1) In addition to midterm and/or midterm studies, students are taken to final exam and/or end of term project work evaluation. The exam schedule is announced on the website by the relevant department/science department.
(2) The success of the student is evaluated with the evaluation method and success criteria specified in the course definition form announced at the beginning of the semester.
(3) The student is obliged to complete the compulsory courses. He/she can take an elective course he/she has failed again and choose another course instead.
(4) Midterm exams and/or midterm studies, final exam and/or end-of-term project work are evaluated over 100 raw points.
For seminar, thesis work, term project courses and proficiency exam, a letter grade is appreciated out of 100 raw points.
In order for the student to be considered successful in the relevant course, the letter grade must be at least CC; In doctoral and post-graduate doctorate programs, the letter grade must be at least CB.
(5) A student whose raw success score is below 25.00 is considered unsuccessful in that course by getting a direct (FF) grade.
The success grade of the student whose raw success score is 25.00 and above; The general situation of the class is evaluated with one of the letter grades whose coefficients and expansion are stated below, taking into account the arithmetic averages and statistical distribution.
After this evaluation, it is possible to have letter grade equivalents (FF) of raw achievement scores of 25.00 and above.
(6) Coefficients and success letter grades are evaluated as follows:

3) E: Incomplete, (The (E) grade that is not corrected within three weeks following the finalization of the final exam success letter grades is converted to (FF).)

(7) AGNO is calculated by dividing the total of the weighted points calculated on the basis of the final grades in all courses during the student's education, by the total credits of the courses taken. The AGNO obtained is shown as two digits after the comma.
(8) Grades from (AA) to (FF) are taken as basis in the calculation of both the weighted semester and the CGPA.

(G) and (D) grades are treated as (FF) grades.

(9) All grades are transferred to the student's grade tracking document.

(10) AGNO for graduation; At least 2.50/4.00 in master's programs with/without thesis, and at least 3.00/4.00 in master's/undergraduate and doctoral programs.

Students who have not met the graduation requirement despite completing their total credits meet this requirement by taking new courses/courses.

(11) Students who do not have the right to take the end-of-term exam because they do not fulfill their course attendance requirements or course applications are deemed absent (D).
