About Programme
On 30.01.2001, it was decided by the Higher Education Council Education and Training Department that it would be appropriate to open a Phytotherapy thesis master's program within the Graduate Program of Gazi University Health Sciences Institute. This specialization program; Basic concepts in phytotherapy, quality and legal regulations in herbal medicines, herbal medicines used in phytotherapy according to systems in the body (such as central nervous system, endocrine system), production and analysis of herbal medicines, morphological and microscopic analysis of herbal drugs, pharmacopoeia analysis, use and design of herbal medicines, Giving theoretical information about traditional and other treatment systems, poisonous plants in Turkey, aromatherapy, production of medicinal plants, herbal drug interactions, herbal teas, nutritional supplements, preparations in the market, dermocosmetic products with natural content; It was established in order to train experts with the potential to comprehend phytotherapy, conduct phytotherapy researches and evaluate the results. It is aimed that the graduates of this program will be able to recognize herbal medicinal drugs used in phytotherapy and have mastery of pharmacopoeial monograph analyzes of drugs used in phytotherapy, equipped with theoretical and practical knowledge of phytotherapy, and have the competencies of Phytotherapy specialists needed in the biological sourced pharmaceutical industry.

History

Phytotherapy master's program with thesis started on 30.01.2001 within the Department of Pharmacognosy. The program had its first graduates in 2005.

Admission Requirements
For registration and admission to the graduate program, students must meet the conditions in accordance with the general principles of the GAZI UNIVERSITY GRADUATE EDUCATION-TEACHING AND EXAM REGULATIONS, which was published in the Official Gazette dated June 11, 2019 (Number: 30798).
To be a graduate of a 4-year or 5-year faculty of pharmacy, faculty of medicine and faculty of dentistry.

Higher Grade Transition
|
Graduates who successfully complete the master's program can apply to doctoral programs in their own or multi-disciplinary fields, provided that they get a valid grade from the ALES exam and provide English language proficiency, and are accepted if they are successful in the interview.
