The Main Branch of Science
History
Between 1983-2001, Biochemistry Department of Pharmacy Faculty graduate programme jointly conducted with the Biochemistry Department of Medical Faculty. Since 2001, the graduate programme of Biochemistry Department conducted by members of Biochemistry Department of Pharmacy Faculty. There are 4 professors, 1 associated professors, and 4 research assistants in the department.

Admission Requirements
Second Cycle (Master?s) Degree diploma with thesis, (2) A minimum ALES score of 70 or equivalent international examinations scores for graduate-level programmes such as GRE, GMAT, etc., recognised by YÖK. (3) A minimum score of 70 in accepted foreign language proficiency exams. Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their composite scores consisting of second cycle degree grade point averages, ALES and foreign language exam.
For International Students: Second Cycle Degree diploma with thesis obtained from universities recognised by YÖK. Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their second cycle degree grade point averages.

Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate from biochemistry doctorate programme, students should attend courses of the department or related departments (90 ECTS credits with a minimum 3/4 cumulative GPA), deliver at least one seminar and should be successful in proficiency exam and should present his/her PhD thesis orally in presence of an academic assessment committee. Evaluation criteria for each course are given in course descriptions. Final exams are held within the date range determined according to the academic calendar announced by Gazi University Institute of Health Sciences at the beginning of the year.
