About Programme
|
Education and clinical training in the Department of Orthodontics are in progress with 13 professors, 5 associate professors, and a total of 32 research assistants, PhD and residency students. There are 2 clinics consisting of 22 dental units, 1 meeting room, 1 laboratory, 5 assistant rooms, and 12 rooms for department members. Clinical and experimental researches are being performed related to orthodontic treatment principals and applications in the Department of Orthodontics. In addition to the education and training of the dentistry students at the faculty, 63 PhD students in Orthodontics have been trained since its establishment. The training of PhD/specialty educations of 32 students are still continuing in the Department. The grading system determined by the University is being used for the evaluation of students? success.

Graduation Requirements
Successfully complete clinical and didactic requirements associated with the program
to pass comprehensive competency exam
successfully complete orthodontic treatment of %85 of the total number of patients assigned
Submit and defend a detailed Ph.D. dissertation proposal after passing the competency exam.
A paper based on the candidate's thesis must be accepted or published in a reputable journal before the dissertation can be defended.

Graduates can continue their academic studies. They have job opportunities in state hospitals and oral health centers. They can also start their own business or work in private oral health centers.
