About Programme

The purpose of the PhD program of the Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technology is to know how to do scientific research, to follow the current developments in the field of instructional technologies, to use the arts of learning and teaching together, to adapt technology to educational goals, to analyze, design, develop, implement and evaluate teaching practices. Our mission is to raise individuals who can effectively meet the educational needs of our country with an academic point of view, in accordance with the changing conditions of the day.

History
The program was established in 1998 with two faculty members, and in the next few years it has progressed to expand its staff with one lecturer and 3 research assistants. The department, which had 6 lecturers at the time of its establishment, currently has 10 Professors, 6 Associate Professors, 3 Assistant Professor and 3 Research Assistants. The department started its education at the undergraduate level with 40 students in its first year. In 2002, it opened its master's degree programs in 2009 and started to provide education at postgraduate level.

Admission Requirements
General admission requirements for Turkish and foreign students are valid to start the program. If these are
For a citizen of the Republic of Turkey;
1) Master's degree with thesis,
2) GRE, GMAT etc. recognized by YÖK. ALES score of at least 70 or equivalent international exam scores from graduate programs.
3) At least 55 points from accepted foreign language proficiency exams. Candidates gain the right to enter the programs according to their composite scores consisting of graduate grade point averages, ALES and foreign language exam. (NOTE: If available, it can be added by the university.)

For International Students:
1)Master's degree with thesis from universities recognized by YÖK.
2)Candidates gain entry to the programs based on their graduate grade point averages.

Graduation Requirements
1. Successful completion of at least seven courses, seminars, proficiency exams and thesis, not less than 240 ECTS course credits, for students who have been accepted with a master's degree with thesis; to fulfill other obligations determined by the relevant higher education institution senate/institute, if any.
2. Successful completion of a minimum of fourteen courses, seminars, proficiency exams and thesis, not less than 300 ECTS course credits, for students admitted with a bachelor's degree; to fulfill other obligations determined by the relevant higher education institution, if any.
3. A scientific preparation program of at most two semesters can be applied to students who are accepted to doctoral programs, who have received their undergraduate or graduate degree in a field different from the doctoral program they have been accepted to, and doctoral program candidates who have received their undergraduate or graduate degrees from higher education institutions other than the higher education institution they are accepted to.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Those with a doctoral degree,
Information technology expertise, coordinator and teaching in private and public schools and institutions; instructional design and technologies expertise; educational software expertise, distance education expertise; can work as a research and teaching assistant and lecturer in higher education institutions.
Assessment and Grading
In general, different methods such as homework, project, practice, midterm and final exam are used in measurement and evaluation.
In the evaluation of student success, systems based on letters or grades are used.
(1) In addition to midterm and/or midterm studies, students are taken to final exam and/or end of term project work evaluation. The exam schedule is announced on the website by the relevant department/science department.
(2) The success of the student is evaluated with the evaluation method and success criteria specified in the course definition form announced at the beginning of the relevant course.
(3) The student is obliged to complete the compulsory courses. He/she can take an elective course that he/she failed again and choose another course instead.
(4) Midterm exams and/or midterm studies, final exam and/or end of term project work are evaluated over 100 raw points. For seminar, thesis work, term project courses and proficiency exam, a letter grade is appreciated out of 100 raw points. In order for the student to be considered successful in the relevant course, the letter grade must be at least CC; In doctoral and post-graduate doctorate programs, the letter grade must be at least CB.
AGNO for graduation; PhD programs must be at least 3.00/4.00. Students who have not met the graduation requirement despite completing their total credits meet this requirement by taking new courses/courses.
