About Programme

Physics Education Thesis Master's Program, it is aimed to make research in the field of physics education, to increase the theoretical knowledge and skills of the students, to improve their ability to interpret and evaluate scientific issues related to the field, to determine methods to adapt them to new or different fields related to the field, and to contribute to professional development. The program includes both theoretical and practical courses on the basis of new approaches in physics education for students to become experts in the field.

Bachelor's graduates who meet the admission requirements for the master's program can apply. According to the European Credit Transfer System, the master's program with thesis consists of courses with a total of not less than 60 ECTS and a thesis work with a minimum of 60 ECTS.

Except for the compulsory seminars and ethics courses, all courses are elective, and students can take the course from within and outside the university as much as the regulations allow, by taking the opinion of the advisor in line with their interests. At the end of this process, pre-service teachers graduate as qualified physics teachers. Our students who graduate from both undergraduate and graduate programs can work as teachers, researchers, academics and experts in public or private institutions.

The Main Branch of Science
Prof.Dr. Musa SARI
History
The current graduate programs in the field of Educational Sciences within Gazi University have been conducted under the Institute of Social Sciences and the Institute of Science since 1983. Later, on the occasion that Educational Sciences was a discipline separate from social sciences and natural sciences, it was necessary to continue its activities as a separate institute. In this context, with the decision of the Council of Higher Education dated 04.11.1997 and numbered 97.39.2761, "G.Ü. The Institute of Educational Sciences was established. Gazi University Institute of Educational Sciences first started to serve in three small rooms on the ground floor of the ?K Block?, which was known at the time, located at the location of the Bosnia Building in the Central Campus. Approximately four years since its establishment in this building; Approximately eight years from 7 May 2001 to 17 August 2009 Maltepe / Ali Suavi Sok. No: 15; Approximately four years from 17 August 2009, Gazi University Central Campus Milas Sok. No: 15.
Qualification Awarded
Master's in PHYSICS TEACHING
Admission Requirements
ARTICLE 4 - (1) The academic calendar to be followed in graduate programs is determined by the proposal of the relevant academic units and the decision of the Senate.
Quota and application
ARTICLE 5 - (1) Application requirements for graduate programs, required documents for application, quota information and procedures and principles regarding student admission are determined by the decision of the relevant institute board of directors in accordance with the provisions of the relevant legislation; Other matters required for student admission are determined by the Senate decision and announced on the web page of the relevant institute.
Higher Grade Transition
Students who have successfully completed their Master's Education can continue their education in their own field or in doctoral programs in different fields, if they meet the necessary conditions.
Graduation Requirements
A student in a master's program writes his / her results in accordance with the rules of thesis writing approved by the Senate. In order for the thesis defense jury to be established, the student has prepared at least one poster or oral presentation at a national or international conference, congress or symposium with his / her advisor related to the thesis subject, or a scientific article accepted / published in a national or international refereed journal, By documenting that he / she has fulfilled one of the conditions for preparing a patent or utility model, he receives the approval of his advisor and applies to the institute through the head of the main science / science branch.
The relevant institute takes the plagiarism software program report regarding the thesis and sends it to the advisor and the jury members. In the event that a real plagiarism is detected in the data in the report, the thesis is sent to the institute board of directors to be decided with its justification.
The master's thesis jury is appointed by the recommendation of the advisor and the head of the related department and the decision of the institute board of directors, taking into account the areas of expertise. If the jury consists of three members, the second advisor cannot be a jury member.
The student who submits his master's thesis and other documents required by the institute to the institute, on the condition of being successful in the thesis defense examination and meeting the other conditions, is entitled to receive a master's degree with thesis upon the decision of the institute board of directors.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Our graduates can teach physics in state or private educational institutions. In addition, he can work as an academic staff in the field of Physics Education of universities.
Assessment and Grading
Exams and grades
ARTICLE 11 - (1) Students are taken to the final exam and / or end-of-term project work in addition to their mid-term exam and / or semester studies. The exam schedule is announced on the web page by the head of the relevant department.
(2) The success of the student is evaluated with the evaluation method and success criteria specified in the course description form announced at the beginning of the relevant course.
(3) The student is obliged to pass the compulsory courses. He can retake an elective course he failed, and choose another course instead.
(4) Mid-term exams and / or semester studies, final exam and / or end-of-term project work are evaluated over 100 raw points. Success letter grade over 100 raw points is appreciated for seminar, thesis study, term project courses and proficiency exam. In order for the student to be successful in the relevant course, the letter grade for the master's degree must be at least CC; In doctoral and postgraduate doctoral programs, the letter grade must be at least CB.
(5) A student with a raw success score below 25.00 is considered unsuccessful in that course by getting a direct (FF) grade. The success grade of the student whose raw success score is 25.00 and above; The general condition of the class is evaluated with one of the letter grades whose coefficients and expansions are given below, taking into account the arithmetic averages and statistical distribution. After this evaluation, it is possible that the raw achievement scores of 25.00 and above have letter grade equivalents (FF).
(6) Coefficients and success letter grades are evaluated as follows:
a) Coefficients Success Letter Grade
4.00 AA
3.50 BA
3.00 BB
2.50 CB
2.00 CC
1.50 DC
1.00 DD
0.50 FD
0.00 FF
b) Notes other than those in subparagraph (a) are:
1) D: Absent,
2) G: Not entered,
3) E: Incomplete, (The (E) grade, which is not corrected within three weeks following the finalization of the final exam success letter grades, is converted into (FF).)
(7) AGNO is calculated by dividing the sum of the weighted points calculated on the basis of the final grades in all courses during the student's education by the total credits of the courses taken. The AGNO obtained is shown as two digits after the comma.
(8) The grades given from (AA) to (FF) are taken as basis in the calculation of both the weighted semester and the AGNO. (G) and (D) grades are treated as (FF) grades.
(9) All grades are recorded in the student's grade tracking document.
(10) AGNO's for graduation; It must be at least 2.50 / 4.00 for master's programs with thesis / non-thesis, and at least 3.00 / 4.00 for doctoral programs with master's / undergraduate degrees. Students who have completed their total credits but could not meet the graduation requirement meet this requirement by taking new courses / courses.
(11) Students who fail to obtain the right to enter the final exam because they do not fulfill the attendance requirements or the conditions for course practices are considered absent (D).
