Our Vision
Gazi University, Gazi Education Faculty, Computer Education and Instructional Technology Deoartment's vision is to be a leading department that contributes to national and international development in terms of academic processes and outputs.
Our Mission
The mission of the department is to train qualified teachers, academicians and researchers who will support the effective and efficient use of science and technology in learning-teaching processes.
Our Aim
The aims of the department are as follows:
- To train teachers who will teach information technology courses in primary, secondary and high schools effectively and efficiently.
- To train instructional technologists who can improve learning processes in all fields of education.
- To contribute to science and technology by educating competent academicians in scientific research.
- To raise individuals who are equipped with the skills of the 21st century, who can make a place for themselves in both the public and private sectors with their inquiring, researching and productive personality.
- To raise individuals who respect ethical values.

History
The program was established in 1998 with two faculty members, and in the next few years it has progressed to expand its staff with one lecturer and 3 research assistants. The department, which had 6 lecturers at the time of its establishment, currently has 10 Professors, 6 Associate Professors, 3 Assistant Professor and 3 Research Assistants. The department started its education at the undergraduate level with 40 students in its first year. In 2002, it opened its master's degree programs in 2009 and started to provide education at postgraduate level.

Admission Requirements
General admission requirements for Turkish and foreign students are valid to start the program. If these are
For students who are citizens of the Republic of Turkey;
1) High School Diploma,
2) Placement through a central, nationwide student selection and placement exam organized by the Assessment, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). Candidates are entitled to be admitted to the program based on their composite scores consisting of central exam scores and high school grade point averages.

For international students:
(1) High School Diploma and "Equivalence Certificate" issued by the TR Ministry of National Education (MEB).
2) International Student Examination (YÖS) or SAT I, ACT, etc., which are international university entrance exams recognized by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). They gain the right to be admitted to the program according to the scores they get from the exams.
Higher Grade Transition
Upon successful completion of this programme, students may apply to second cycle degree or directly to integrated third cycle (doctorate) programmes.
Graduation Requirements
A student is required to successfully complete the designated program of courses meet a minimum of 240 ECTS credit requirement and have a minimum GPA of 2.50/4.00.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Those with a bachelor's degree
-They can work as Information Technologies Teachers in primary and secondary schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education.
-If they meet the relevant requirements, they can continue their graduate education.
They can work as education specialists, content development specialists or teaching technologists in companies or institutions that develop educational software.
-They can work as a distance education manager, project manager, distance education expert, content development expert or subject area expert in distance education institutions or companies specialized in this field.
-They can work as a network manager, database specialist or software development specialist in IT departments.
-They can work as graphic and animation designers in companies
-They can work as an education specialist or teaching technologist in the education departments of public and private institutions.
-They can work as teachers in various computer fields in public education centers or non-formal education activities.
-They can work as instructional technologists or research and development specialists in private primary and secondary education institutions.
Assessment and Grading
In general, different methods such as homework, project, practice, midterm and final exam are used in measurement and evaluation.
In the evaluation of student success, systems based on letters or grades are used.
(1) Students are given a letter grade for each course at the end of the semester/year they are registered.
(2) This letter grade is appreciated by the instructor giving the course.
(3) In the evaluation of the success letter grade, the student's midterm exam, semester/end exam, success in the semester studies and attendance to the courses and applications are taken into consideration. The calculation of this letter grade is determined by the recommendation of the relevant academic unit board, the decision of the relevant board of the academic unit and the approval of the Senate.
(4) The success grade of the student is determined out of 100 full points. This score is called the raw achievement score.
(5) A student with a raw success score below 25.00 fails the course by getting a direct (FF) grade. The success grade of the student whose raw success score is 25.00 and above; The general situation of the class is evaluated by using one of the methods prepared with the decision of the University Education Commission and the approval of the Senate, taking into account the arithmetic averages and statistical distribution.
AGNO for graduation; undergraduate programs must be at least 2.50/4.00.
