History
Health Services Vocational School, which was established in 1985 under Gazi University, started education with the Nursing Associate Degree program. Medical Laboratory in 1987, Medical Documentation and Secretariat programs were opened in 1993. Education continues with 3 departments and 7 associate degree programs connected to these departments, together with the programs opened in the following years.
Qualification Awarded
Students who successfully complete the program are given the associate degree diploma and Health Technician (Health Secretary) title in accordance with the decision of the Council of Higher Education Executive Board dated 27.07.1992 and numbered 92.26.698.
Admission Requirements
Students are admitted through a central examination held by the Assessment, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). Entry conditions for this program are determined by ÖSYM in line with the relevant legislation of the Higher Education Institution.
Higher Grade Transition
The students graduated from the medical documentation and secretary program can accomplish the following degree programs according to the DGS grade; Business, Business Administration,Health management.
Graduation Requirements
Article 38- In order to be awarded an associate degree and a bachelors degree, the student must successfully complete the courses and have a minimum GPA of 2.00. Students whose GPA is between 3.00 and 3.50 graduate to the HONOR list and students with 3.51 or higher graduate to the HONOR list and this status is indicated on their diploma. Associate and undergraduate degrees to be given by theFaculty are different for each level, but they are organized jointly in all thefaculty of Gazi University. The diploma is awarded once. In the event of aloss, a certificate will be issued with a photo indicating that the diploma wasgiven due to the loss. Diplomas are signed by the Rector and the Director ofthe School. At the end of the education process, students can graduate aftersuccessfully completing 120 ECTS credits.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Studentsgraduated from medical documentation and secretary program, according to the gained qualifications, can work at; with a title "Medical Secretary"at polyclinics, information services, patient record and acceptance,statistical and human resources and medical archive services departments.
Assessment and Grading
(1) For each course taken, students are given a letter success grade at the end of the semester/year.
(2) This grade is given by the instructor of the course.
(3) While evaluating the letter grade, a student?s success at classes, mid-terms/final examinations and attendance to classes are considered. The calculation of the letter grade is determined by the approval of the related academic unit and the Senate.
(4) The success grade of a student is calculated over 100 points. This grade is called raw success point.
(5) A student whose raw success point is under 25.00 is directly given an FF grade and the student fails the course. The success grade of a student whose raw success point is 25.00 and above is evaluated by using the methods determined by the board decisions of the Educational Commission of the University and the Senate; with the letter grades of which coefficients and explanations are mentioned below. After this evaluation, it is also possible that the raw success points 25.00 and above may become FF letter grades.

1) D: Did not Attend the Course
2) G: Did not Attend the Exam
3) E: Incomplete (The E grades which are not corrected until after 3 weeks from the finalization of letter success grades are converted to FF)
4) VZ: Withdrawn
(7) A student whose letter success grade is (AA), (BA), (BB), (CB), (CC), (DC) or (DD) is considered as succeeded the course. However, the CumGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) of the student must be at least 2,00 for graduation.
