About Programme

Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) has always been a significant discipline within the engineering community. The scope of EEE extends beyond fields such as telecommunications, computer systems, and energy engineering, encompassing a wide range of areas from medical electronics to space technology. Unlike other engineering disciplines, EEE is highly dynamic, and most technological revolutions around the world often originate from Electrical and Electronics Engineering.Electrical and Electronics engineers play a crucial role in the design and development of modern high-tech applications, including electromechanical systems, computer systems, embedded systems, electronic control systems applied in industrial processes, renewable energy, automotive industry, aviation, and even automation for maintenance. In the undergraduate program of the Faculty of Technology at Gazi University, courses in fundamental sciences such as physics, mathematics, and chemistry are complemented by comprehensive instruction in fundamental electrical and electronics engineering subjects, including circuit theory, analog electronics, digital electronics, microprocessors, and signals and systems. At higher levels of education, students receive extensive training in areas such as digital signal processing, electric machines, power systems, control systems, communication systems, instrumentation, and power electronics. Our students primarily acquire knowledge, skills, and experience in the fields of electric machines and control, power electronics, communication, automation and control systems, power systems, and embedded systems.

PROG. Director
Prof.Dr. Şevki DEMİRBAŞ
History
Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department in Technology Faculty of Gazi University was established in 2010. Also the Graduate programs (MSc and PhD) started at same time. Department of EEE has about 600 undergraudate students. Although our department looks like a young department, it has been established on the educational staff and laboratory substructure of the Technical Education Faculty, which had been providing 4-year undergraduate education in the field of Electric-Electronic from 1942 to 2010.
Qualification Awarded
Bachelor's Degree in ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING
Admission Requirements
General admission requirements stated under Info on the Institution on this website are being applied to start this programme.
Higher Grade Transition
Students who are graduated from Bachelor program and also provide additional conditions of applied program to graduate programs (PhD or MSc).
Graduation Requirements
Students must obtain a grade point average of minimum 2.00 out of 4.00 and successfully complete all the courses (total of 240 ECTS).
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Students who successfully finish the requirements work in electronic, electromechanical, energy, communication or information technologies sectors in Turkey or abroad. An important number of students have started working in defense companies in recent years. About 20% of the graduates continue with post graduate studies, and some of them become academicians.
Assessment and Grading
Measurement and Evaluation
(1) For each course taken, students are given a letter success grade at the end of the semester/year.
(2) This grade is given by the instructor of the course.
(3) While evaluating the letter grade, a student?s success at classes, mid-terms/final examinations and attendance to classes are considered. The calculation of the letter grade is determined by the approval of the related academic unit and the Senate.
(4) The success grade of a student is calculated over 100 points. This grade is called raw success point.
(5) A student whose raw success point is under 25.00 is directly given an FF grade and the student fails the course. The success grade of a student whose raw success point is 25.00 and above is evaluated by using the methods determined by the board decisions of the Educational Commission of the University and the Senate; with the letter grades of which coefficients and explanations are mentioned below. After this evaluation, it is also possible that the raw success points 25.00 and above may become FF letter grades.
(6) Coefficients and letter success grades are evaluated as shown below:
a)
Coefficients Letter Success Grades
4.00 AA
3.50 BA
3.00 BB
2.50 CB
2.00 CC
1.50 DC
1.00 DD
0.50 FD
0.00 FF

b) The letter grades other than the ones in the clause ?a? are:
1) D: Did not Attend the Course
2) G: Did not Attend the Exam
3) E: Incomplete (The E grades which are not corrected until after 3 weeks from the finalization of letter success grades are converted to FF)
4) VZ: Withdrawn
(7) A student whose letter success grade is (AA), (BA), (BB), (CB), (CC), (DC) or (DD) is considered as succeeded the course. However, the CumGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) of the student must be at least 2,00 for graduation.
