About Programme
Your familiarity with the natural and usual events happening around you every day prevents them from appearing interesting to you; you accept them naturally, you will not be curious. However, such events are full of pleasant surprises and riddles. Wouldn't you like to identify them, learn about them and unravel their secrets in our department?
Physics teacher undergraduate program provides undergraduate education to students who are placed with their numerical scores in the university placement exams made by ÖSYM. In the program, courses in the category of field, field education and vocational knowledge are carried out on a semester basis. In addition to the compulsory courses, the program also includes various elective courses suitable for students' interests and abilities. Theoretical courses are supported by laboratory applications. Practical courses including informatics and communication skills for using and producing instructional technologies required for physics teaching have an important place. With the self-confidence that this accumulation provides to our students, we are preparing for the teaching profession by practicing in secondary education institutions. At the end of this process, prospective teachers graduate as qualified physics teachers.
In addition, our graduates can continue their graduate education at the relevant institutes, provided that they meet some specified criteria. Our students who graduate from both undergraduate and graduate programs can work as teachers, researchers, academicians and experts in public or private institutions.

The Main Branch of Science
History
Physics Teaching Department was established to meet the teacher needs of secondary education institutions. Physics teacher education program offers undergraduate education to students who are placed with LYS Numerical-2 score. In line with the efforts to restructure education faculties, 5-year educational programs have been implemented since 1998-1999 academic year and 4-year educational programs since 2014-2015 academic year. These processes include field knowledge courses and courses for teaching formation. The courses are carried out on a semester basis. In addition to the compulsory field courses that develop and mature the field knowledge, there are also elective courses for students' interests and abilities. Theoretical lessons are supported by practices in the laboratory. Practical and up-to-date information is given in computer lessons and computers are used at the highest level in the existing computer labs. In addition, internships are held in primary and secondary schools for students to train themselves in the teaching profession. At the end of the process, prospective teachers will graduate as physics teachers. Students who want to study academically have the opportunity to do postgraduate education.

Assessment and Grading
Assesment and and Grading
(1) Students are given a letter grade for each course at the end of the semester / year they are registered. (2) This success letter grade is appreciated by the lecturer who teaches the course. (3) In the assessment of the letter grade of success, the student's success in midterm exam, semester / year-end exam, mid-term studies and attendance to classes and practices are taken into consideration. The calculation of this letter grade is determined by the recommendation of the relevant academic unit board, the decision of the relevant board of the academic unit and the approval of the Senate. (4) The student's success grade is determined over 100 full points. This score is called the raw success score. (5) A student whose raw success score is below 25.00 fails from that course by getting a direct (FF) grade. The success grade of the student whose raw success score is 25.00 and above; The general condition of the class is evaluated with one of the letter grades whose coefficients and expansions are stated below, using one of the methods prepared with the decision of the University Education Commission and the approval of the Senate, taking into account the arithmetic averages and statistical distribution. After this evaluation, it is possible that the raw achievement scores of 25.00 and above have letter grade equivalents (FF). (6) Coefficients and success letter grades are evaluated as follows: a) Coefficient Notes 4.00 AA 3:50 BA 3:00 BB 2:50 CB 2:00 CC 1:50 DC 1:00 DD 0:50 FD 0:00 FF
b) 1) D: Absent, 2) G: Not entered, 3) E: Incomplete, (The (E) grade, which is not corrected within three weeks following the finalization of the semester / year-end exam success letter grades, is converted into (FF).) 4) VZ: Withdrawal. (7) A student who takes one of the grades (AA), (BA), (BB), (CB), (CC), (DC) and (DD) from a course is considered successful. However, in order to graduate, the AGNO of the student must be at least 2.00.
