About Programme
In one way art is language, in another way language is math. Galileo says that "nature is written in the language of mathematics." The order and harmony of the physical world is based on mathematics. Mathematics appears as a common language and tool from Einstein's theory of relativity to addition and subtraction in a market exchange. The use of Mathematics, which deals with abstract concepts such as number and space, and their relations, is rapidly increasing in other sciences and information technology. The main aim of our department is to train mathematicians who are capable of working in research and technical fields, who are well-equipped in the face of developing technologies, with their wide teaching staff and compulsory courses as well as many elective course spectrums that will be the basis for many natural sciences. For this purpose, it was established in 1982 as an independent department within Gazi University Faculty of Science and Letters. Our department includes Algebra and Number Theory, Geometry, Analysis and Functions Theory, Topology, Fundamentals of Mathematics and Mathematical and Applied Mathematics. In addition, the program was changed in accordance with the European Union Erasmus Program, which also includes Gazi University. Our department has been continuing its undergraduate and graduate activities as a department of Gazi University Faculty of Science since 2011.

Assessment and Grading
(1) At the end of the semester / year they are registered, students are given a letter grade for each course.
(2) This success letter grade is appreciated by the instructor who gives the course.
(3) At the discretion of the success letter grade, the student's midterm exam, final exam, final exam, and continuation to courses and applications are considered. The calculation of this letter grade is determined by the proposal of the relevant academic unit board, the decision of the relevant board of the academic unit and the approval of the Senate.
(4) The student's grade is determined over 100 full points. This score is called raw success score.
(5) A student with a raw achievement score below 25.00 will be unsuccessful in that course by obtaining a direct (FF) grade. The student's success grade with a raw achievement score of 25.00 and above; Considering the general condition of the class, arithmetic averages and statistical distribution, by using one of the methods prepared with the decision of the University Education Commission and the approval of the Senate, the coefficients and explanation of the following are evaluated with one of the letter grades. After this evaluation, it is possible for raw achievement scores of 25.00 and above to have letter grade equivalents (FF).
(6) Coefficients and success letter grades are evaluated as follows:
Coefficient Notes 4.00 AA 3.50 BA 3.00 BB 2.50 CB 2.00 CC 1.50 DC 1.00 DD 0.50 FD 0.00 FF
D: Absent, G: Not entered, E: Incomplete, (The (E) grade, which is not corrected within three weeks following the finalization of the semester / year-end exam success letter grades, is converted into (FF).) VZ: Withdrawal. A student who takes one of the (AA), (BA), (BB), (CB), (CC), (DC) and (DD) grades from a course is considered to have succeeded that course. However, in order to graduate, the AGNO of the student must be at least 2.00.
