The program, which was originally planned as a 4-year program with one year of preparation, was reduced to 3 years by removing the preparation in the 1934/35 academic year. The institution, which gave its first graduates in 1935, received female students for the first time in 1936. In the 1944/45 academic year, the duration of education was reduced to 2 years, and again increased to 3 years in the 1948/49 academic year. Our program has continued its activities since 1979/80 under the name of Gazi Higher Teachers' School Physical Education Department.
