About Programme
The Faculty of Pharmacy at Gazi University was established by Law No. 2809, which ratified Decree Law No. 41, in 1982. The institution began its activities in 1968 as the Anadolu Pharmacy Special Vocational School. In 1971, it was nationalized by Law No. 1472 and merged with Ankara Pharmacy Special Higher School, and the education began under the umbrella of A.I.T.I.A. (Ankara University of Higher Institutes). Until 1979, the school continued its education as A.I.T.I.A. Pharmacy Vocational School, then it was renamed as A.I.T.I.A. Faculty of Pharmacy in 1979. In 1982, it was incorporated into Gazi University as the Faculty of Pharmacy. Education and research activities at our faculty are carried out by 40 Professors, 13 Associate Professors, 16 Assistant Professors, 1 Instructor, and 35 Research Assistants. Our annual quota is 125 students, and the language of instruction is Turkish. In addition to compulsory courses related to the pharmacy profession, the program offers students elective courses in the field.

History
Gazi University, one of Turkey's leading universities, was founded with the order of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in 1926 as "Middle School Teacher Training Institute" and began its educational activities. The name of the institute was changed to "Gazi Teacher Training School and Education Institute" in 1929 and served under this name for many years. In 1976, it was named "Gazi Education Institute". The Institute gained the identity of "Gazi University" in 1982 with the law number 2809.
Pharmacy education in our faculty started in 1968 as ?Anadolu Pharmacy Private School?. In 1971, it was nationalized with the law number 1472, merged with the "Ankara Private High School of Pharmacy" and connected to the Ankara Academy of Economic and Commercial Sciences (A.I.T.I.A.). Until 1979, " it was named as ?A.I.T.I.A. School of Pharmacy ?, then transformed into a faculty with a new name ?A.I.T.I.A. Faculty of Pharmacy? in 1979 with the law number 2237. In 1982, it was incorporated within Gazi University as "Faculty of Pharmacy" with the law number 2809.
The Founding Dean of our faculty, Prof. Dr. Ningur Noyanalpan served between 1982-1994. Then, between 1994-1997, Prof. Dr. Bilge Şener, between 1997-2006 Prof. Dr. M. Fethi Şahin, between 2006-2012 Prof. Dr. Turhan Baykal and Prof. Dr. I. Tuncer Değim served as Dean. As of 27 July 2016, Prof. Dr. İlkay Erdoğan Orhan is the current Dean of the faculty.

Higher Grade Transition
Graduates can go to master or PHD programs if they have enough GRE scores (ALES is the Turkish alternative) and language skills.

Graduation Requirements
Student have to complete all courses successfully. Students must get 300 ECTS credits and grade point average has to be at least 2.00 on a 4.00 scale.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Graduates work in community pharmacies, hospital pharmacies, public institutions, private sector, research institutes or universities.

Assessment and Grading
Measurement and Evaluation (1) For each course taken, students are given a letter success grade at the end of the semester/year. (2) This grade is given by the instructor of the course. (3) While evaluating the letter grade, a student?s success at classes, mid-terms/final examinations and attendance to classes are considered. The calculation of the letter grade is determined by the approval of the related academic unit and the Senate. (4) The success grade of a student is calculated over 100 points. This grade is called raw success point. (5) A student whose raw success point is under 25.00 is directly given an FF grade and the student fails the course. The success grade of a student whose raw success point is 25.00 and above is evaluated by using the methods determined by the board decisions of the Educational Commission of the University and the Senate; with the letter grades of which coefficients and explanations are mentioned below. After this evaluation, it is also possible that the raw success points 25.00 and above may become FF letter grades. (6) Coefficients and letter success grades are evaluated as shown below:
a) Coefficients Letter Success Grades 4.00 AA 3.50 BA 3.00 BB 2.50 CB 2.00 CC 1.50 DC 1.00 DD 0.50 FD 0.00 FF
b) The letter grades other than the ones in the clause ?a? are: 1) D: Did not Attend the Course 2) G: Did not Attend the Exam 3) E: Incomplete (The E grades which are not corrected until after 3 weeks from the finalization of letter success grades are converted to FF) 4) VZ: Withdrawn
(7) A student whose letter success grade is (AA), (BA), (BB), (CB), (CC), (DC) or (DD) is considered as succeeded the course. However, the CumGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) of the student must be at least 2,00 for graduation.
